  • For the believers and secularists alike.

The depiction that I can never equate myself with as a person, is being saint-like. I neglect my prayers, I challenge my parents, I swear a lot, I hate, I am at times unappreciative towards my blessings and I selectively lack integrity. But in spite of everything I do and how I behave, I refuse to feel unworthy. I am not unworthy of God's love, and neither are you. He loves me, as much as the next person, with love amounting to that of a holy ustaz as much as that of a man who shot his wife. Maybe disappointed with what we've chosen to do, but to be less of worth? I highly doubt it.

People tend to focus on Him as a retributive commander with an eternal source of condemnation. In case you have forgotten, God also presents us with unlimited love and forgiveness -that is a gift that I can only hope and wish to one day partially return, based on such a massive magnitude of affection. We weren't created to be torn apart or burned during our time in eternity. Religion should be filled with compassion, where we can seek refuge and take comfort in. Not for us to feel unworthy, sullied or lesser. Nobody should make you feel that way, not even yourself.

And although I have indulged myself in whatever pleasant vices, it does not diminish my value in God's eyes, nor does it mean I should just accept it as that and not strive to stop letting Him down. Regardless of whichever religion you choose to believe, or not to believe, He will look pass your imperfections and no one else is permitted to interpret or critic your relationship with Him. No matter how unrighteous your life has been, there is no demerit system that will strip you off His degree of love and affection, because it simply is an infinate and permanent intransience.

  • Lady Gaga?

Wrong. It's Nicole Richie channeling the go-go dancer in a recent magazine photoshoot, undeniably her most idiosyncratic look. Props to the the neon themed ensemble, but most of all, the the nail rings by Bijules! Such a clever design for people like me, hygiene fanatics that refuse to keep long nails and clip them the minute they start growing. But in contrast to what I just said, I'm not one who you'll see spending $166 on each finger. Good luck to those who will though, I sure hope they can be used for scratching too.
